The function is designed to proactively prevent malicious transactions, protecting users from scams, phishing and hacker attacks.

Company representatives expect that security notifications will help protect users’ crypto assets from theft.

“With this feature, you will know if a transaction is suspicious before it is signed. Smart, safe and seamless – that’s how we work,” MetaMask representatives emphasized.

Notifications are available in the browser extension and mobile application. In addition to Ethereum, the following networks are supported: Linea, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and Avalanche.

The developers suggested that in 2024, security notifications would prevent theft of assets “worth hundreds of millions of dollars.”

The number of active MetaMask users grew by 50% from September to January, from 19 million to more than 30 million. The figure is approaching the peak levels recorded in the previous bull market phase.

Let us remind you that the startup Blockaid, founded by former employees of the cyber intelligence unit of the Israeli army, closed a Series A funding round for $33 million in October.

The solutions developed by the company are also used by the OpenSea, Zerion and Rainbow platforms.
