Mercedes will offer its employees only electric cars as work cars from now on

The German car manufacturer Mercedes has announced that in the future, it will issue only electric models to its employees for the performance of their work duties, gradually abandoning conventional cars. As you know, Mercedes is one of the car manufacturers that has decided to switch exclusively to the production of electric cars by 2030.

Currently, about 5,000 cars are used for work purposes in Mercedes, which mostly use an internal combustion engine in various versions – gasoline, diesel or plug-in hybrid.

There is no mandatory requirement for employees to use an electric car, but more and more Mercedes employees are choosing electric cars as their work cars, and their number in the Mercedes work car fleet has increased rapidly in the last couple of years. The manufacturer’s plans provide that from 2025 an electric variant will be available for all Mercedes models. True, it also provides for a certain consolidation of the number of models.
