Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff has put up for sale a rare Ferrari F40 from his impressive collection. No selling price is shown.
Last year, Toto Wolff announced that he would sell his Ferrari collection, saying it was strange for the Mercedes F1 team boss to drive around in a Ferrari.
The Ferrari F40 went on sale earlier this month, but no asking price was given.
Given that only around 1,300 Ferrari F40s were built between 1987 and 1992, the valuation is likely to be very high.
Toto Wolff’s Ferrari F40 has only 3,440 miles on it in 33 years.
The sale is being handled by Tom Hartley Jr., and the website advertises:
“Direct from the collection of Mercedes-Benz F1 CEO and team principal Toto Wolff.”
“One of 27 cars delivered new in Spain. It has just had a complete overhaul by Ferrari and model specialist Autofficina Bonini Carlo Srl.”
“It is Ferrari Red Book Classic certified, confirming that it retains its original chassis, body, engine and gearbox.”
“We also have original books such as important warranties, service supplements, leather wallets, and dedicated history files.”
“I can’t drive the car anymore.
“Ferrari is a great brand, but I don’t think it would make a particularly good impression if I was cruising in a Ferrari.”
“But I haven’t driven a car in a long time and now I travel in a Mercedes electric car.”
