Mercedes-AMG SL 63 SE Performance: The Most Powerful Roadster Ever Released

Mercedes-AMG has started offering the most powerful model of the SL line – the roadster Mercedes-AMG SL 63 SE Performance, which will cost at least 223,720 euros.

The most powerful SL ever is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo unit combined with a 150 kW (204 hp) AMG Electric Drive Unit, developing 816 hp and 1,420 Nm of maximum torque. The roadster reaches 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is 317 km/h. Also included is an electric two-speed gearbox and a mechanical rear axle locking differential.

The car is equipped with the active AMG Active ride control suspension, which resists body roll, while the active rear wheel steering function turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front wheels if the car speed does not exceed 100 km/h or in the same direction if this speed limit is exceeded. The AMG high-performance composite brakes with carbon ceramic brake discs measuring 420 x 40 mm on the front axle and 380 x 32 mm on the rear axle will help keep the speed under control.

Thanks to the 6.1 kWh battery, which can be charged with the 3.7 kW built-in charger, Wallbox or from the household network socket, it is possible to travel up to 13 kilometers with electricity. The roadster always starts electrically, but the driver has eight driving modes at his disposal for different situations and his own preferences.

Manufacturer’s combined fuel consumption: 15 kWh/100 km and 7.7 liters per 100 km or 11.7 liters per 100 km when the battery is discharged.
