Claude Puel announced it: ASSE should not necessarily recruit during this Mercato winter, even if the coach green of St Etienne would not be against the arrival of a real goalscorer at the Forez club, but the AS Saint-Etienne must first reduce their workforce, which has more than thirty players under professional contract. So several players like Robert Beric, Lois Diony, Assane Dioussé, Léo Lacroix and even Yann M’Vila or Wahbi Khazri (in case of great offers) could pack their bags during this winter transfer market.
However, the ASSE has registered a departure during this Mercato : that of Samy Baghdadi (22 years old), who was however promised a very bright future among green of St Etienne. But a serious injury will long distance him from the field, and Samy Baghdadi, well aware that he will no longer have a chance now with the pros at AS Saint-Etienne, has chosen to return to RC Grasse (National 2), the club from its beginnings before landing in Saint Etienne.
