Memorial place for Aart Staartjes in the library of his hometown | NOW

The library in Dronryp has opened a condolence register for the recently deceased actor Aart Staartjes. People who want to sign the register or lay down flowers will have the opportunity to do so on Thursday.

On Thursday between 1.30 pm and 6 pm the register can be signed in the residence of the Staartjes family, reports the municipality of Waadhoeke.

In addition, people at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum can leave condolences and memories in a special memorial book.

Staartjes died in the hospital last Sunday due to the injuries he sustained in a traffic accident on Friday. The actor collided with a car in Leeuwarden with his moped car.

Staartjes was an actor, director, presenter, writer and documentary maker. He was best known as the somewhat surly Mr. Aart, the role he had played in the children’s program since 1984 Sesame Street.
