“Melo – M” and Dināra Rudāne record Raimonds Pauls song “Dāvāja Māriņa” | Press release

September 25, 2020.

The information was prepared by Kaspars Kukuvass, “Melo-M” manager.

The cello trio “Melo – M” in collaboration with the well-known singer Dinārs Rudāns will release a new song this week – a unique and new version of one of Raimonds Pauls’ most popular songs “Dāvāja Māriņa”, which serves as a harbinger of cellists and Rudāne’s upcoming concert activities “within.

The popular Raimonds Pauls song with the words of Leonas Briežis in the new version of “Dāvāja Māriņa” surprises with the sound of a cello and emotional singing in a contemplative and modern mood. The song’s recording and musical approach have also been praised by the song’s author, Maestro Raimonds Pauls.

The new record is a convincing message for the cello trio “Melo – M” collaboration with Dinārs Rudāns, which has been crowned with the music program “Five Elements” for more than a year.

The name of the concert program “Five Elements” is not a coincidence, as it is dominated by five different musical moods – academic music, rock and pop music, songs by Latvian authors and references to folk or world music.

The name of the concert program is also unexpectedly associated with a special musical surprise – the composition “Diva’s Dance”, staged in collaboration between the soloist and “Melo-M”, which is better known from the film “The Fifth Element” and stands out with special vocal complexity.

Other compositions in the program include the song “Who Wants To Live Forever” by the group “Queen”, the rock anthem “Smoke On The Water”, “Sweet Dreams” once sung by Annie Lenox, as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Night Queen’s Aria from the opera “Magic flute “and many other compositions.

“Melo-M” and Dināra Rudāne offer the concert program “Five Elements” this autumn in several concerts in Latvian city cultural centers.

The next concerts are expected on October 9 at Bergi Culture Center, October 18 at Jelgava Culture House, October 23 at Aluksne Culture House, October 30 at the Sigulda Devons Culture Center and November 20 at the Latgale Embassy “GORS”. Tickets for concerts can be purchased at “Biļešu paradīze” sales points and on the website bilesuparadize.lv.
