While there has been a storm surrounding former President Donald Trump, his wife, Melania, has remained completely silent. For over a month, the former first lady has not shared anything with her over two million followers on Twitter and Instagram.
She broke that silence on Sunday when she posted an Easter greeting to her followers.
– Happy Easter, she wrote and added a picture of a pink rose.
In addition, she was with her husband at the annual Easter lunch at Mar-a-Lago. It was the first time the two appeared in public together since March 30, writes The Independent.
The couple were greeted with a standing ovation when they entered the hall.
Lots of rumours
It may thus seem that much is back to normal after the mildly turbulent period.
Many have wondered how the 52-year-old has reacted to the indictment against her husband linked to hush money to the former porn actor Stormy Daniels.
And Melania has kept a very low profile in recent weeks.
She was absent when the former president flew to New York for the court hearing and she also did not attend a press conference Tuesday night that Trump held at Mar-a-Lago when he returned to Florida.
There he thanked his children, but did not mention his wife with a single word.
– She is angry
Melania’s former best friend, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, told Page Six that she is convinced that Melania’s absence during Trump’s speech on Tuesday night was anything but accidental.
– I never expected to see her there. Her silence is intentional. It is her weapon of choice and her protective armor,” Wolkoff told the website.
However, she doesn’t think this will make her leave Trump.
– Of course she knows about Donald’s affairs. She knows everything. But her silence is her dignity. She will stand by her husband’s side as always. I don’t think Melania is humiliated by his affairs, but she is angry, says Wolkoff.
Donald’s Easter greeting
Donald Trump also sent an Easter greeting, but was not as sparing with his words as his wife Melania.
In a relatively ironic message on his own platform Truth Social, he wished a happy Easter in true Trump style.
– Happy Easter to all – including the weak and pathetic “RINOS” (Republicans in Name Only) and the radical left Democrats, Socialist Marxists and Communists, and all those who oppose stricter border control and voting laws, Trump wrote before continuing to ramble against the Democrats.
He ended the message thus:
