Melancholy on Norah Jones ’eighth album

Today Norah Jones’ eighth studio album “Pick Me Up Off The Floor” is released. Jones ’pleasing compositions, located between pop, soul and jazz, once again cause hymn criticism. The album is sold in numerous formats – online and in different versions of CD and vinyl.

On “Pick Me Up Off The Floor” she can be heard with musicians such as Jeff Tweedy from the band Wilco, John Patitucci and Brian Blade. The songs are melancholic and somber this time. The single “I’m Alive” had already been released in advance.

All-rounder with prominent roots

Most recently, she had released the studio album “Begin Again” in 2019, like all albums so far and also the new one on the legendary Blue Notes label. Jones is the daughter of the Indian cult musician Ravi Shankar and was born in 1979.

Jones trained as a jazz and soul musician, songwriter, composer and pianist – to name just a few of her professions. In 2002 she made her breakthrough with her album “Come Away with Me”, for which she received five Grammys.
