PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri asked PDIP cadres directly regarding the duet discourse Prabowo Subianto with Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. The Gerindra Party praised Megawati as very wise.
“Ms. Megawati’s statement is a form of her respect for Pak Prabowo and the Gerindra Party. We observed that she did not convey any negative statements to us at all,” said Gerindra Vice President Habiburokhman in a written statement, Sunday (1/10/2023).
Habiburokhman assessed that Megawati emphasized that both parties respected each other’s choices regarding the presidential candidacy and their running mate. On the other hand, he said, Prabowo and Gerindra also really respect Megawati.

“Differences in choices are not a reason for us to be divided. Because even though we have different choices, we both have the dream of making Indonesia a developed country because its people are just and prosperous,” he said.
“Ms Mega’s very wise attitude is a role model for us and of course because of this attitude the election situation will be peaceful and unified and free from polarization and division,” he added.
Previously, Megawati touched on the issue of Prabowo Subianto’s duet with Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. Megawati asked her cadres directly whether they would like this duet.
This was conveyed by Megawati in her speech at the closing of the IV PDIP National Working Meeting at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (1/10). Megawati initially admitted that she was confused by the issue of pairing Prabowo with Ganjar.
“You know, I myself was confused when the media suddenly said something like this, ‘Oh yes, there has been an agreement that Pak Prabowo will be the president, Pak Ganjar will be the vice president’. I kept staring at home, wow, who’s the one saying this? Yes, it’s me. “The chairman generally doesn’t even understand,” said Megawati.
