The Agent 007 or James Bond movie saga is a classic of world cinema. Portrayed by various icons on the big screen such as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craigamong others, there are several requirements that must be met to embody this mythical character.
Elegance, English style, height close to 1.90 m, seductive, “von vivant”, to mention some characteristics of this Ian Fleming legend, determined over more than half a century what are the “parameters” for the leading actor to be part of the cast of this milestone.
In line with the good lifestyle, cars are part of every mission assigned to Bond. Generally, they are not “simple means of transport”, but each vehicle you use has unique artifacts that constantly help you (machine guns, remote control, functions to transform it into an aquatic model, invisibility, among others). Among the cars we remember the most is the 1964 Aston Martin DB5.
Even so, in this note we will leave aside the English taste, and we will take into account a model from France, which although it was not James Bond himself, was one of the jewels of Agent 007: A View To A Kill (In the sights of the murderers), starring Roger Moore and 1985.
It’s about the Renault Fuego, the mythical coupé that had its glory days in Argentina during the 1980s and 1990s. However, during this installment, the version that appeared in the film did not pass through our countrysince it was about the configuration Turbo, offered between 1983 and 1986 abroad.
With 132 hp 1.5 turbocharged engine, associated with a five-speed manual transmission, this coupé became one of the most popular jewels of the timeand clearly one of the main attractions of this film from James Bond. Even so, in this delivery it appears as property “of the opposite side”, since It is one of the vehicles used by the antagonists of the film.
Why Renault? Throughout this movie, several of the diamond patterns appear on different occasions. This happens because the brand was part of the “sponsors” of the filmeven in one of the scenes, James Bond (Roger Moore) himself participates in a chase aboard an R11 taxi.
The only Fire? No, during the delivery of 007 GoldenEye (1995)with Pierce Brosnan to embody the legendary super agent, The silver French coupe appears, just like in 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies.
