“Meet Guna Paidere: Chief State Notary of Latvia’s Enterprise Register and Leader in Technological Progress”

Guna Paidere is the chief state notary of the Enterprise Register (UR) – head of the institution. Under her leadership, UR experienced technological progress. A digital transformation project is also currently being implemented to introduce automatic decision-making, which will be an innovation at the European, maybe even global level.

When starting a business, UR is the first contact with the country and the first impression of the country, says Paidere in a conversation with “Delfi Bizness”.

She says that she is an optimist by nature and believes in the good.

A current personal concern is getting a motorcycle license.

Every Sunday, we introduce readers to people active in business. You will find other “Personality in Business” talks here.

A person devotes a large part of his life to work. Why do you work in this particular field?

I personally find working in the public administration inspiring, because I deal with issues that affect the wider society on a daily basis. Work at UR is doubly motivating, because we serve the most active part of Latvian society on a daily basis – businessmen, who are an essential driving force in promoting our well-being, associations – which are a civically active part of society.

Customers are dynamic, and the institution should be as well, and we try very hard to ensure that the customer receives fast and high-quality services on a daily basis. I also see polishing Latvia’s international reputation as an important part of my work – I participate in various projects, conferences, working groups and expert meetings in order to share our good experience.
