Medvedev’s Role in VK Leadership and the Threat of a Military Coup: Insights from Kremlin Sources

A source close to the official leadership of the VK called Dmitry Medvedev the “head” and “wedding general” of the party, while a source from the circle of presidential envoys said that Medvedev is “nothing at all” to them.

A source close to the Kremlin, describing Medvedev’s place in Russia’s “vertical of power,” called him an “armored train on a backup track” that could one day come in handy for Putin.

Prigozhin and “Wagner” military coup

Although Medvedev frequently and dramatically threatens the use of nuclear weapons in various scenarios on his “Telegram” channel, he warned of the threat if the June 24th military coup attempt by the “Wagner” group had materialized.
