Medical College of Peru acquitted Congressman Alejandro Aguinaga and Dr. Eduardo Gotuzzo for the ‘Vacunagate’ case

The III Regional Council of the Medical Association of Peru (CMP) decided to “definitively” file the file denouncing Congressman Alejandro Aguinaga (Popular Force) and infectious disease doctor Eduardo Gotuzzo, of having allegedly committed a violation of the Code of Ethics and Deontology, for the case ‘Vacunagate’.

According to the resolution issued by the Committee for Contentious Affairs and Disciplinary Procedures of the CMP, on Wednesday, February 22, this complaint against health professionals “has no value”, because they never requested to be vaccinated.

On the contrary, “they were invited to receive the vaccine by the principal investigators,” they indicate.

In that sense, the committee points out that “the vaccine was never taken from any person nor was he involved in taking other people or in the purchase of the vaccine.”

Seven other health professionals were also acquitted, such as: Claudia Gianoli Keller, Daniel Wiegering Gianoli, Danilo Sánchez Coronel, Sofía Sánchez Boluarte, Gladys Ramírez Prada and Carlos Castillo Solórzano.

As recalled, former President Martín Vizcarra and former ministers Pilar Mazzetti (Health) and Elizabeth Astete (Foreign Ministry) were some of the authorities involved in this case, dubbed ‘Vacunagate’.
