The Primate did not like the participants in the meeting, among whom was the head of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, considered the “Ukrainian question.”

The Ukrainian Church had previously become one, received autocephaly in Constantinople, and therefore got out of the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church. The new religious structure was called the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU).
