Meal all together: Spotify has karaoke function | Inland

The streaming service used by millions of Dutch people has released the new function itself. As the song plays, the lyrics can be followed on the screen, with the sentences moving from bottom to top.

“The long-awaited function is reminiscent of a karaoke bar,” notes the Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. “The text changes color as soon as you have to sing that exact part. When you pause the song, the lyrics stay as well.”

The feature has since been launched in the Netherlands. After an update, users can pull up a new blue bar after which the text appears. Another function, Behind the Lyrics, according to Techcrunch will disappear. This made it possible to request certain information about the lyrics or about the artist.
