MDAC sponsors World Blood Donor Day in Nara. • Malijet

The Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Colonel Sadio Camara and his counterpart of Health Diaminatou Sangaré proceeded, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, to the official launch of World Blood Donor Day in Nara. Several personalities from the world of Health and the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs took part in this ceremony.

‘Join the FAMa effort by donating blood to save lives’, this is the theme chosen this year by the Malian government to magnify the active solidarity of the Malian people towards their army. This is part of World Blood Donor Day, held on June 14 each year to highlight the role voluntary blood donation plays in saving lives and building community-wide solidarity. The celebration of this day officially established by the World Health Organization has become a means of launching national and regional awareness campaigns. It also aims to encourage voluntary blood donation in order to guarantee quality, safety and availability, guaranteeing a safe and regular supply to blood banks. This year’s day mobilized all the active forces of the capital of Ouagadou, which had thus received a ministerial delegation since its erection in the region.

In his welcome address to the guests, the mayor of the urban commune of Nara, Zekani known as Sidi Mohamed Goundourou, very sincerely thanked his Excellency Colonel Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition, Head of State and his government for all the efforts they are constantly making to secure people and their property. The mayor did not fail to reiterate his support and that of the entire population to the Malian armed forces.

The Governor of the region, Colonel Amara Doumbia affirmed that it is with pride that all of Nara learned of the choice of Minister Sadio Camara as sponsor of this day. According to him, nowadays tranquility is back in the city of Nara and fear has changed sides; because the enemy was routed thanks to the determination and commitment of the Malian armed forces. Governor Amara Doumbia will add that: “Since December 2021, despair has become real hope in the face of the rise of the FAMa and the offensive actions of Operation Kélétigui, which have undoubtedly had positive effects with the neutralization of several terrorist groups”.

The sponsor of this day, the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Colonel Sadio Camara, said he was particularly happy and honored to have been chosen for this purpose. For him, ”The choice of this theme by the health authorities is perfectly appropriate to the current context of Mali and proves that all strata of the Nation have a role to play in the fight we are waging today”.

The Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs said that ”All those who give their blood to help save Malians must be aware that they participate directly in the consolidation of national unity and the stabilization of our dear country”.

Speaking, Minister Diaminatou Sangaré of Health and Social Development paid a vibrant tribute to our armed defense and security forces for their support and support. It also maintains that in addition to the sovereign missions of defending territorial integrity, the defense and security forces have worked within the framework of solidarity through blood donation. She said she was grateful to the Malian armed forces who paid with their lives, their commitment to the homeland, to the families of the missing and wounded in the war, and to their loved ones.

At the end of the series of interventions, the two ministers followed by the governor and other personalities present set the tone by donating blood. As the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs clearly pointed out, the example of all those who donate their blood to help save lives must inspire all Malians so that this generous and patriotic practice spreads everywhere.
