SPAIN.- Following the initiative to eliminate plastic straws from its restaurants, McDonald’s Spain decided to start an auction of the last straw in its lot through the eBay site.
According to the description of the auction, as of February 24, the plastic straws will cease to be used in all the establishments of that country, and they decided to auction the straw from the last batch.
At the moment it reached a price of 25 thousand 400 euros, more than 530 thousand Mexican pesos, and the final amount will go to the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation.
The sale of the straw will end on February 7.
The fast food chain expresses its concern to minimize environmental impact and indicates that plastic straws now have an expiration date.
