The blows continue after the reopening of non-essential trade in the communes of Santiago and Central Station, which yesterday left Quarantine to enter the stage of Transition Step by step plan.

Faced with what happened, the mayors of the two communes, Felipe Alessandri and Rodrigo Delgado, asked the Government to close the malls and shopping centers again and that they only be authorized to reopen their doors at the stage of Preparation.
“We don’t want the scenes that we saw in the Alameda shopping center with Maipú to be repeated in other parts of the commune or in any other shopping center in the country. That is why we are asking the sanitary Authority, that these types of businesses can operate from stage 3 or Preparation, “said Alessandri.
In addition, they asked that reopening be carried out with strict sanitary protocols. Alessandri pointed out that these should be “the use of a mandatory mask, temperature control upon entry, have alcohol gel for customers and dependents and establish a maximum capacity for each premises and the premises as a whole.”
For his part, Delgado indicated that “it is urgent to rethink the feasibility of delaying the reopening of these precincts in phase 3 or 4 of the plan, as it has been shown that doing so in Transition translates into high crowds which could pose a significant health risk ”.

Likewise, both mayors announced that they will ask the Ministry of Economy to establish deferred schedules for the wholesale trade.
“You have to do a specific job in this area and that translates into a simultaneous high demand. We understand the urgency of the economic reactivation, but we must be cautious through the gradualness in the sale ”, declared Delgado.
Finally, both communal chiefs called on their neighbors to go out only when necessary, avoid crowds and carry out procedures through the internet.
