The mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero Calle, announced on Tuesday morning that he was diagnosed as positive for covid-19. The president told, through his Twitter account, that the test for covid-19 was carried out last Friday, as he used to do every eight days. However, he said, a second test was necessary to confirm the result. He added that, For now, she has no symptoms.
“In the last 193 days we have put everything in our power to save as many lives as possible. We have dedicated ourselves to building ventilators, getting others, meeting with medical personnel, visiting hospitals, and meeting with actors from the departmental and national government. Quintero explained that, among the decisions he made, isolated himself from his family to protect the recovery process of his daughter Aleia (who underwent a liver transplant in May) and who also prepared a Unified Command Post (PMU) to make the decisions during the 15 days of isolation that it requires.
“The Isolation PMU has state-of-the-art technology that allows you to maintain control of every detail of government while the isolation lasts. This PMU, to serve as accommodation, is paid with its own resources“He added.
