Mayor of Knokke-Heist Leopold Lippens is struggling with his health

First ships Piet De Groote takes over most of the tasks temporarily. But Lippens will still chair the most important meetings, says Alderman De Groote. “Almost all meetings take place digitally and he chairs the most important meetings, so the council of aldermen and the city council. He is still firmly in control.”

Leopold Lippens is 79 years old. He had heart surgery a few years ago and then promised to continue as mayor until he is 108 years old.
