Mayor Luis Revilla yesterday signed the construction contract for the new San Antonio Municipal Hospital, which will be second level and the largest in the La Paz city. It will have seven levels for 121 beds. The investment is Bs 87.4 million.
It will be located on Avenida 31 de Octubre, corner of Calle 5 in Villa San Antonio Bajo. The Health Director, Cristian Pereira, explained that it will have 12 specialties: hemodialysis, internal medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, emergency care and complementary studies such as X-rays, ultrasound and tomography. The benefit will be for 141,325 inhabitants.
“It will be the largest second-level hospital that we are going to have in the city, even bigger than La Portada. We recommend that the company Velarde Construcciones fully comply with the term of the contract that we signed today, ”said the Mayor, accompanied by residents of San Antonio. The estimated construction time will be 540 days.
The construction will be carried out under the exception mode because the two international tenders were declared void.
Revilla explained that the lowest bid was awarded “which is very important, because it means significant savings for the GAMLP,” and clarified that the quality will be the same as La Portada, Cotahuma, Los Pinos and La Merced. The referential price of the contract for the tender was Bs 104,114,397 and was awarded for Bs 87,470,537.
