The weather isn’t supposed to be top notch, but we hill kids have never let that stop us. With handcarts, children and cones, you can go through the country in any weather to stop off at one of what feels like 10,000 gas stations and celebrate the most beautiful month of the year together. In Helmsheim, the forest stage festival of the choral society starts on Sunday, April 30th at 3 p.m. The festival continues on May 1st with the traditional May Festival. The join-in choir of the choral society will present its new Helmsheimer-Wellermann song live.
Traditional forest festivals also take place in Ubstadt-Weiher. In Ubstadt, the volunteer fire brigade at the edge of the Sperbel forest invites you to their marquee from 11 a.m. In Weiher, the forest festival takes place at the Spitzweidenhütte on Kronauer Allee, which opens at 9 a.m. with an alarm drive through Weiher by the fire brigade and subsequent forest fire drills. The Zeutern volunteer fire brigade will take care of the physical well-being of the festival visitors in Won Himmelreich from 10 a.m. The forest festival takes place in all weather conditions.
The Medieval Festival at the foot of the old tower in Bruchsal’s Bürgerpark offers a journey back in time to the Middle Ages from April 28th to May 1st. A colorful program of show fights, dances, handicrafts and music provides entertainment.
In Odenheim, the festivities for dancing into May begin on April 30 at 11 a.m. There will be classics from the grill and from the festival kitchen as well as inviting beer and waffles from the St. Michael kindergarten team. In the evening, the dance and show band PLAYERS will provide mood music. On May 1st at 11 a.m. it will also continue with a morning pint and musical support from Čočky Břicha and the Neuenbürg Music Association as well as repeated performances by the PLAYERS. Traditionally, schnitzel with side dishes and salad is also offered for lunch on May 1st.
The Büchiger Kickers invite you to their popular May Festival on May 1st. With hopefully bright sunshine, people of all ages gather for a social get-together. The hospitality team is available from 10:00 a.m. and spoils the guests with a wide range of delicious dishes and refreshing drinks. Whether it’s a cool thirst quencher, freshly tapped beer or a refreshing spritzer – there’s something for every taste. Steaks, chicken and sausages are also available for refreshment. Parking for the May hike is in Büchig at the Bürgerwaldhalle.
The Unteröwisheim singing club invites you to the festival on May 1st in the Kerschdekipper Hall. The in-house band provides live music and the physical well-being is well taken care of. In the cafeteria there is also coffee, delicious cakes and delicious tarts.
In Oberöwisheim, for its part, the singing club shows what wood is made of and celebrates May with everyone who feels like it at the tram stop.
The 36th slaughter festival takes place in Gondelsheim on May 1st. There hearty food and cool beer is offered in the gym and festival hall. The event starts at 11 am.
In Eppingen, celebrations take place around the Jägersee. The town band plays near the old chatarque and on the lake itself the anglers show what a nice party should look like.
The traditional “Maihocketse” takes place on May 1st at the old sports field in Kraichtal-Gochsheim. In addition to tasty steaks from the swivel grill, grilled sausage, hot sausage, fries and dumplings with potato salad are also available. There is also a rich coffee and cake buffet. The musical entertainment will be provided by the accordion friends from Oberhausen and the club’s own play groups Evergreen-Musikanten, the newly founded “EverYoungs” and the 1st Orchestra of Accordion Friends Kraichgau. Visitors are cordially invited to come along on May 1st and enjoy a few pleasant hours among accordion friends.
The Richen fishing club invites you to the fire station on May 1st. What’s up? Fish, of course, perfectly prepared from the region for the region.
In Bahnbrücken you celebrate with everything that goes with it at the sports area on the edge of the forest into the merry month. Entertainment, food and drink will of course be provided.
