May 1st in Taranto, Riondino ‘I would never wish for violence’

(ANSA) – TARANTO, 01 MAY – “I would never hope for violence, least of all on someone who legitimately won the elections and who therefore governs us. I didn’t vote for them, I don’t share their ideas and I will commit myself, I will fight because their political defeat comes as soon as possible”. This was said by Michele Riondino who, together with Antonio Diodato and Roy Paci, is the artistic director of Uno Maggio Taranto libero e pensiero, the alternative concert underway in the Ionian capital which thus celebrates workers’ day. Riondino spoke from the stage under which a banner was posted with the words “Since 1965 the actors have changed but the tumors remain”, a phrase which he refers to the former Ilva. The actor also spoke of those who “turn history and reality upside down” and who manage to do so by “proceeding in small steps so that the acceptable becomes reasonable and in the end the reasonable becomes legal”. “We are proceeding in small steps and it was well thought out by those who decided to place anti-abortionists in the clinics, by those who defined the partisans who died in Via Rosella as ‘a musical band of semi-retired and non-Nazi SS men’ (the reference is to the words of the President of the Senate, Ignazio Larussa, ed.)”. “Reversing reality means alluding, reversing a photograph can mean alluding but however you turn it there always remains that definitive immobility”, continued Riondino in reference to his post from a few days ago in which he published a thought on the importance of April 25th attaching a upside down photo in which the president of the Senate was portrayed. “We can make mistakes in ways and times but one thing should be clear to everyone and to be even clearer I borrow the words of the partisan president, Sandro Pertini when he said that ‘all ideas must be defended and respected except fascism’ which is the death of all ideas and rights. Happy May 1st to everyone”, he concluded. The show is a 12-hour marathon hosted by Valentina Petrini, Andrea Rivera, Martina Martorano and Serena Tarabini. On stage there will be, among others, Brunori Sas, Serena Brancale, Cristiano Cosa, Valerio Lundini and I VazzaNikki, Mannarino, Marlene Kuntz and Francesca Michielin. (HANDLE).
