“Mavericks” coach Karlails: Porziņģis will definitely not go on the field until January – Basketball

The Mavericks began preparations for the new season of the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Tuesday. Porziņģis is also on the team’s list of 20 players, but the Latvian does not have full-fledged trainings yet.

On August 17, Porziņģis suffered a meniscus injury in the first match of the NBA playoffs. The Latvian basketball player underwent surgery on October 10 and the time required for rehabilitation was not set, but it is estimated that he may not play for three to four months.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Karlails noted that Porziņģis was feeling well.

“His rehabilitation is going smoothly. He has resumed light classes on the field, but will certainly not play until January. When January is here, we can predict something more specific,” The Dallas Morning News reporter Brad Townsend quotes Carlisle as saying.

Last season, Porziņģis participated in 57 regular championship games, in which he scored 20.4 points in less than 32 minutes on average, won 9.5 rebounds and blocked 2.0 throws. In the playoffs, he played three games in the field, averaging 23.7 points in 31.5 minutes, winning 8.7 balls under baskets and blocking 1.0 throws.

The Mavericks acknowledged the superiority of the Los Angeles Clippers in the quarterfinals of the Western Conference with 2-4.
