LESMO – Monster Energy Yamaha team director Lin Jarvis said he was saddened by the decision Maverick Vinales who officially left his team at the end MotoGP 2021. Lin Jarvis hopes too Maverick Vinales continue to be successful in the next destination.
Vinales has joined Yamaha since 2017. He also became one of Yamaha’s mainstay riders, until they did not hesitate to give Vinales a contract until 2023.
However, a series of poor performances made Vinales feel unheard. Therefore, he also asked to terminate his contract earlier than the agreement.
Jarvis admitted that the split discussions took place after the 2021 German GP. In that race, Vinales ended the race in last position. That too Jarvis felt sad.
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Maverick Vinales at the end of the year. We’re in the middle of season five together. Over the years, we have achieved many achievements, as well as dealt with several problems,” said Jarvis on Yamaha’s official website, Monday (28/6/2021).

“After the German GP, which was the most difficult weekend in cooperation, we had discussions in Assen. We conclude that it is better for both parties to separate in the future,” he said.
An amicable split that’s been on the cards for some time. Yamaha can now move on and give Morbidelli an opportunity in the factory team .
Maverick is a complicated character , this outburst has happened before , he’s upset that Fabio is doing the job and he’s not , a bit of mental toughness required as motogp bikes have never been easy for any rider so if after 5 years you can’t improve the bike or explain to technicians what’s wrong it’s time to move on . Good luck Maverick, you’ll need it
