On Sunday, before the Angel of the Lord prayer, Francis wanted to meet some children from the oncology department with their parents. Later, they accompanied the Holy Father to the terrace on the tenth floor, where he went to say the “Angel of the Lord” prayer. After that, the Pope greeted the patients, who, like him, are being treated on the 10th floor of the Gemelli Clinic. The Holy Father spent some time talking to the medical staff.
On Sunday afternoon, he celebrated Holy Mass in a private chapel along with the medical staff who cared for him. Francis shared the joy of the victory of the Argentine and Italian football teams, lingered on the importance of sport and the values it contains, as well as on the ability to accept any result, including defeat. “Only in this way, in the face of life’s difficulties, can we move forward, continue to fight without losing hope and confidence,” he said.
