“Matt Damon Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Details of Dunkin’ Super Bowl Commercial with Ben Affleck”

Matt Damon recently revealed some behind-the-scenes details about his Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial with his best friend, Ben Affleck. The commercial, which featured the duo alongside football legend Tom Brady as “The Dunkings,” became one of the most talked-about ads from the Super Bowl. Damon shared during an appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert that the commercial was not his idea, but he enjoyed filming it nonetheless.

One of the standout moments in the commercial was when Damon delivered a line to Affleck, saying, “Remember when I told you I would do anything for you? This is ‘anything.'” Damon revealed that he actually said that line to Affleck during filming, and Affleck decided to keep it in the final cut. The camaraderie between the two friends was evident, and their on-screen chemistry shone through.

Damon also took the opportunity to discuss his long-standing friendship with Affleck, referring to him as his “best friend” of many years. The pair has known each other since childhood and has collaborated on various films together, including the critically acclaimed “Good Will Hunting,” “Dogma,” and “The Last Duel.” They have also worked together behind the scenes as producers on films like “Argo” and “Air,” which Affleck directed.

During the interview, Damon mentioned other famous friends in his life, such as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Interestingly, Krasinski and Blunt happen to be Damon’s neighbors, as they all live in the same apartment building. Damon jokingly remarked that he sees Krasinski in the gym every morning and can’t seem to escape his presence. He affectionately referred to the couple as “more like family.”

Damon also shared that he has been training with Krasinski every morning, as Krasinski is getting in shape for his role in an upcoming Guy Ritchie film, possibly referring to Ritchie’s movie “Fountain of Youth” starring Natalie Portman and Eiza González. Damon humorously mentioned that he joined Krasinski’s training sessions simply because he had nothing else to do at the time.

In a previous interview with USA TODAY, Damon mentioned that he had taken time off from acting, as per an agreement with his wife. However, he made an exception if acclaimed director Christopher Nolan were to offer him a role. To his surprise, Nolan did reach out, and Damon eagerly accepted the opportunity to work on Nolan’s atomic bomb thriller, “Oppenheimer.” Damon shared with Colbert that he had a feeling Nolan would have a new project in the works, given the director’s unpredictable nature. While he didn’t know if there would be a part for him in the film, he left the possibility open.

Matt Damon’s Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial not only entertained viewers but also provided a glimpse into his enduring friendship with Ben Affleck. The behind-the-scenes anecdotes shared by Damon added a personal touch to the commercial’s success. It’s evident that Damon values his relationships with his friends in the industry, such as John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. As for his acting career, Damon’s decision to take time off was momentarily put on hold when Christopher Nolan came calling. Fans can look forward to seeing Damon in Nolan’s upcoming film, “Oppenheimer,” as he continues to navigate his successful career in Hollywood.
