The Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland, Great Britain is one of the oldest film festivals in the world, this year it will take place from August 12 to 20 and will offer a special atmosphere, because in addition to a rich film program and premieres, the city will also host the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which is the largest art festival in the world. The film “Neona pavasaris” is included in the program of the “Night Moves” festival.

“Neon Spring” is an emotional story about the relationships of today’s youth, about people striving for each other and sometimes not meeting. About another life that begins under the cover of night. About the world around us today. We tried to avoid moralizing, but to be honest ,” the film was described by its director Matīss Kaža.

The young poet, dramatist and actress Marija Luize Meľke debuts in the main role of the film. Other important roles in the film are played by young actors Greta Trušiņa, Gerds Lapoška, Agnese Rukšāne, Matīss Ozols, Timotejs Pelle Kalniņš and Emīls Ralfs, as well as actor Jānis Skutelis.
The film team consists of director and co-author of the script Matīss Kaža, co-author of the script Marija Luīze Meļķe, cinematographer Aleksandrs Grebņevs, artist Rūdolfs Baltiņš, composer Toms Auniņš, make-up artist Aija Beata Ryabovska, costume designers Laura Jančauska and Krišjānis Elviks, editing director Paula Popmanes, sound director Aleksandrs Vaijahovskis and producers Matīss Kaža, Una Celma and Dace Siatkovska.
The film was made in the studios “Trickster Pictures” and “Deep Sea Studios” in cooperation with “Fenixfilm”.
The movie “Neona pavasaris” is planned to be shown in cinemas in Latvia in the fall of 2022.
