Trained at Stade Rennais then at US Saint Malo, Mathis Angot will meet Cédric Moreau, a well-known coach of the Saint Malo landscape, at US Château Malo!
When it comes to describing the motivations for joining this new project, words are quite easy to find for Mathis Angot, trained at Stade Rennais and spent several seasons on the reserve side of the USSM. While he rubbed shoulders with Alexis Trouillet in particular, professional on the side of OGC Nice now, he is heading to R3 to join the US Château Malo project: “It is a choice made by the club’s project and its ambitions but also for my professional orientation” confided the principal concerned. A first recruit who should call others for the group of Cédric Moreau, spent for more than ten years at the USSM: “Cédric Moreau is surrounded by people I know in my professional world. For a young Saint-Malo, it remains a legend, all things considered. There is a young group with confirmed elements like Beaucé, Oumaouche, Coutino: players that I have already known or faced and who are sure values to achieve the objectives. There is a certain dynamism within this club and for me, the idea was to bring my stone to the building ”.
A page turns for Mathis Angot
When joining US Château Malo, it is also a page that turns for the young midfielder (20) who looks back on his career and what he retains from his previous experiences: “At Stade Rennais, it was above all the professionalism that marked me, the chance to have rubbed shoulders with players who are now at their best. For my part, after my health problem, I knew that my goals had fallen because when you lose one or two seasons, it is not forgiving. Regarding my time in Saint-Malo, I also experienced very beautiful things in young people, including the generation which has reached maturity to go from U19 to senior. I sometimes had the opportunity to train with the N2 group but without ever making an appearance. Once you’ve tasted it, you definitely want to experience it again. This is also why I was not persuaded to find my way in the game project of the reserve. I also wanted to grow up as a man and get out of my cocoon. Thanks to Fabien and Abdel for allowing me to learn about high level senior training and it’s time to turn a page… and then who knows? Maybe bounce back in a few years!
