The new PDC season traditionally starts with the Masters. The new edition is scheduled from January 31 to February 2.
Michael van Gerwen is the only Dutch participant at the Masters, where the top 16 of the world ranking after the World Cup Darts may participate. The five-time title defender plays in the first round against Jonny Clayton.
World champion Peter Wright opens against Joe Cullen, currently the number fifteen in the world. World Cup semi-finalist Nathan Aspinall meets James Wade, while Rob Cross crosses the sword with Adrian Lewis. Michael Smith starts off against Mensur Suljovic.
Daryl Gurney was paired to Dave Chisnall, while Gerwyn Price faced Simon Whitlock. Gary Anderson makes his comeback at this tournament against Ian White after one year of absence.
