Massive shelling in Ukraine, mainly in Kharkov and Odessa, but also in Lviv and the capital, kyiv. There are at least six dead and several injured.

Since October and following several military setbacks on the ground, Russia has been bombarding key energy facilities in Ukraine with missiles and drones, plunging more and more millions of people into darkness and cold in the freezing winter.
Bakhmut could fall soon
Meanwhile, in Bakhmut, Moscow is gaining ground every day. The Wagner mercenary group, which is leading the Russian assault, claims to have full control of the east of the city. Ukraine denies this and remains defiant.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg fears that the city could soon fall into Russian hands:
“We cannot rule out that Bakhmut could eventually fall in the next few days. And therefore it is also important to note that this does not necessarily reflect any turning point in the war.”
In recognition of his troops’ defense of Bakhmut, a senior Ukrainian general presented medals to the soldiers.
The Ukrainian president firmly believes that if Bakhmut falls “the door will open” for Russian troops to take more cities.
Ammunition for Ukraine
Meanwhile, the European Union is considering spending 1 billion euros for the joint procurement of munitions for Ukraine and to replenish the bloc’s own reserves.
