This week, two major automakers have announced recalls involving hundreds of thousands of vehicles.

Honda Recalls

More than 750,000 Hondas are being recalled due to airbag-related problems.

In the recently published documents, officials revealed that the front passenger seat weight sensors on affected vehicles can unintentionally deploy an airbag.

The recalls impact the following Honda and Acura models from 2020 to 2022:

  • ACURA/MDX/2020, 2022
  • ACURA/RDX/2020-2022
  • ACURA/TLX/2020-2021
  • HONDA/ACCORD/2020-2022
  • HONDA/ACCORD HYBRID/2020-2021
  • HONDA/CIVIC/2020-2022
  • HONDA/CIVIC TYPE-R/2021
  • HONDA/CR-V/2020-2021
  • HONDA/CR-V HYBRID/2020-2021
  • HONDA/FIT/2020
  • HONDA/HR-V/2020-2022
  • HONDA/INSIGHT/2021
  • HONDA/ODYSSEY/2020-2022
  • HONDA/PASSPORT/2020-2021
  • HONDA/PILOT/2020-2022
  • HONDA/RIDGELINE/2020-2021

No injuries or deaths have been reported so far, and Honda dealers are ready to replace the seat weight sensors free of charge. Vehicle owners will receive notification letters by March 18.

General Motors Recalls

General Motors is also recalling over 323,000 heavy-duty pickup trucks due to an issue with the electronic tailgates.

According to reports, dozens of complaints have been made, including one minor injury incident.

The recall affects certain Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks manufactured from 2020 through 2024.

Dealers will replace the touchpad switches at no cost to the owners, and they will also receive notification letters by March 18.
