Massive Expansion of Childcare: Federal Government Commits €4.5 Billion by 2030 to Close Childcare Gap

Together with the federal states, the federal government now wants to massively expand childcare. Both parents should then be able to pursue full-time jobs much more often.

4.5 billion by 2030 for the expansion of childcare – a measure that the ÖVP considers such a big hit that not Family Minister Susanne Raab, but Chancellor Karl Nehammer himself announced it in the ORF “summer talk”. By 2030, the federal and state governments want to make the sum available to close the childcare gap between the ages of one and three years. For all children who need a childcare place, there should be one from the age of one. The next day, the family minister explained exactly how this should be done.
