Massive $1.05 Billion Mega Millions Jackpot Up for Grabs in Tuesday Night’s Drawing

One lucky individual has the chance to win an astounding $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday night’s drawing. If won, this mammoth prize would be the fourth-largest in Mega Millions’ history, according to a news release from the lottery on Saturday.

The winner of the grand prize can choose to receive the money in annual payments spread over 29 years or opt for a lump-sum payment estimated at $527.9 million, as stated by Mega Millions.

The jackpot reached over a billion dollars after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night. Tuesday’s drawing will mark the 30th since the jackpot was last won in New York on April 18, as reported by Mega Millions.

Although no one claimed the jackpot on Friday, there were still significant winners. A ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $5 million by matching the first five numbers and activating the optional Megaplier, which is available in most states for an additional $1 purchase. Additionally, four tickets sold in Arizona, California, New York, and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers to win $1 million each.

The highest Mega Millions jackpot to date was a staggering $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina in 2018. This is followed by a $1.348 billion ticket sold in Maine in January and a $1.337 billion prize won last July.

Taking fourth place on Mega Millions’ list is a $1.05 billion prize won by a ticket sold in Michigan in 2021.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing for this massive prize comes shortly after a Powerball ticket sold at a convenience store in Los Angeles matched all the numbers to win a $1.08 billion prize, making it the third-largest Powerball jackpot.

Excitement is building as participants eagerly await the Mega Millions drawing, hoping to become the lucky winner of this extraordinary $1.05 billion jackpot.
