It is with a heavy heart that we have to contact 400 people who have probably looked forward to the Maskorama final just as much as us.
Next Saturday, the stage is set for the finale of the hugely popular show “Maskorama” on NRK. The show has become one of the biggest viewer magnets on Norwegian television since 2020, and the interest has since been great for being an audience. Last year, Oslo was closed for several months, but since the previous government opened at the end of September, there has been a packed hall during all the programs this season.
Recently, however, the government came and ruined the party for many by implementing strict corona measures, and it will have great significance for Saturday’s broadcast.

– The authority’s measures have consequences for the final in Maskorama. The new restrictions on a maximum of 600 people in the audience, divided into three cohorts, unfortunately means that we have to reduce the number of spectators by about 400 people. We prioritize the audience according to when they bought tickets, so that those who bought first keep their place. Those who do not get a place will be reimbursed for the ticket cost, writes project editor at NRK, Jan Egil Ådland, in an e-mail to Nettavisen.
And he adds:

Must confirm in advance
NRK also states that it will not just be “showing up” for those who do not receive the stubborn message from the public broadcaster to stay at home.
– Those who keep their place in the studio are asked to confirm by email if they actually come. Those who are informed that they do not have a place in the hall will have the opportunity to put themselves on a waiting list in case any of those who have a place choose to stay at home. If they end up without a place in the studio on the final, they will have the opportunity to buy tickets before everyone else for a possible next season.
– Of course we think it is very sad to have to say no to so many, but we have no other choice, Ådland writes further.
“Nøkken” had to go out
In the previous broadcast, it was “Nøkken” who had to leave the competition, just before the final. The person who hid in the costume was none other than the artist Margaret Berger.

– I have had so much fun, and especially fun that people have been so confused. And it really cost me a little to gossip and lie a little, she said after the mask had been removed.
In other words, Bamsen, Dragen and Snømonsteret are on to next week’s finals.
