The Ministry of Labor finally published Monday, August 31 around 9 p.m. its new protocol, who gives the obligatory mask at work this Tuesday 1is September. In companies, we struggle to decipher the twenty pages. In some sectors, the proposed relaxations are ineffective.
I will not suggest to my mechanics to wear a visor instead of the mask.
Loïc Clément, who manages a garage of four employees in Ille-et-Vilaine, is embarrassed by the new protocol of the Ministry of Labor. The text makes the mask mandatory in business, while providing for a host of alternatives.
In workshops, for example, the mask can be replaced by a visor. We work on, or under, the engines , grumbled Loïc Clément. When you lower your head, the visor hits your chest. And we get splashed with oil. It will have to be wiped off constantly.
So ? My employees are three in 600 m²! However, we will have no other choice than the mask …
Thierry Louazel came to the same conclusion. This owner of two garages in Ille-et-Vilaine has just put on the mask for his sixteen workshop employees. The visor is impossible.
Four to seven bonds
Not easy, either, to manage exceptions in the offices. An employee can temporarily remove his mask at his workstation… only if the company meets between four and seven obligations, depending on the color of the department: ventilation, protective screens, high air extraction, etc.
Our platform in Yvelines, which operates 24 hours a day, is in the red zone , observes Laurent Levasseur, president of Bluelinea, a remote assistance company for the elderly. But only half of the positions meet the seven criteria, in particular the 4 m² per person. In these stations, it is possible to temporarily dispense with the mask, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
And from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., breaks are for everyone outside.
We do not have protective screens in our offices , said Martine Laruaz, president of the Laval group Isore, a specialist in exterior insulation. We cannot therefore waive the wearing of a mask. We will discuss the possible flexibilities with the social partners.
In the meantime, the company favors individual office occupancy.
And the obligatory mask outside, if the distance of one meter is not respected? This was already included in the construction safety protocols , says William Bousseau, who runs a public works company near Cholet. We have been applying it for several months.
