Marvin van Luijn – Coffee time

All people with MS have something in common, they are infected with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Healthy people can also carry this virus. Why does the disease develop MS in some people and not others? Marvin van Luijn hopes he can answer this question in his new research.

Marvin van Luijn is assistant professor at the Erasmus MC Department of Immunology, where he has been working since 2020. He works at ErasMS, the competence center for Multiple Sclerosis. Here he and his colleagues conduct research on the origin and course of MS. Marvin also secured Vidi’s funding. He received € 800,000 from the Organization of the Netherlands for his search for him.
