In the ‘Claw-Tiger Operation’ held in the northern part of Iraq, Infantry Expert Corporal Recep Yüksel was martyred in the clash with terrorists.
One of the two children of his family, Martyr Specialist Corporal Yüksel fell in the father’s quarry in rural Gökkaya District, 7 kilometers from Ahmetli district of Manisa.
Ahmetli District Governor Turgutlu District Governor Ali Yılmaz, AKP’s Ahmetli Mayor Ahmet Alhan, Ahmetli District Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie Senior Chief Sergeant Uçal Karataş, Gökkaya District Mukhtar Kadir Türker, his father Atalay Yüksel and gave to his mother Fatma Yüksel, who is a housewife.
Upon receiving the news, Yüksel tried to calm the couple, who were burst into tears, relatives and protocol members.
An ambulance was kept ready at the Yüksel Family’s house for precautionary purposes. Turkish flags were hanged on the father’s house of the Martyr Specialist Corporal, who served in the Turkish Armed Forces since April 2019, and on the street where he was located. The martyr’s father’s house was filled with those coming for condolence visits.
It was learned that the funeral of Martyr Specialist Corporal Recep Yüksel, who is single, will be brought to Akhisar Military Airport first and then to Ahmetkaya’s Gökkaya Mahallesi by road and will be buried in the afternoon today.
In the written statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, “A hero of our gunship was martyred in the clash with the terrorists in the Operation Claw-Tiger Operation area on June 28, 2020. We have mercy from God, mercy to our saint martyr who lost his life in this incident that overwhelmed us with deep pain and sadness. We wish our condolences and patience to our noble nation with the Turkish Armed Forces. “
