Martin Chodúr and his partner Ivona
In 2009, the singer Martin Chodúr won the singing show Česko Slovenská Superstar and later the Český slavík poll as Discovery of the Year. His performances were breathtaking and Martin quickly became a favorite in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. More than one girl’s heart burned for this nice guy, but Martin took everyone’s breath away. He fell in love with a woman seventeen years older, who was also married at the time.
In 2010, not long after he became famous, the then 21-year-old idol fell in love with a much older woman. Martin Chodúr’s heart ignited for the beautiful Ivona Selníková, who was thirty-eight years old at the time. It didn’t take long before the lovebirds welcomed their first child into the world. In 2016, their son Martínek was born.
First birth after forty
However, the excited parents did not reveal the gender of the baby. “We want to be surprised, we don’t even know the gender. That’s until we see him with our own eyes. We already have names selected for both versions. I look forward to my family most of all. It is probably the nicest and most important thing that could have happened in my life. I’m looking forward to the new role of a father,” the singer once said to the website idnes.cz. Beautiful Ivona didn’t even gain a lot of weight. “I expected the pregnancy to change me, but I can’t say that, apart from the fact that I gained six kilos. Which is not so much. It feels very natural, I work normally and it doesn’t limit me in any way,” said Ivona, for whom this was her first birth in her forties.
Even fourteen years after winning the competition, Martin is dedicated to music and has also involved his beloved in this process. Ivona works as his manager. It often happened that the couple encountered allusions to the age difference. No matter how harsh some of the comments were, for example they told him that Ivona looked like his mother, Martin did not let himself be swayed and always responded to unpleasant comments by confessing his love for his chosen one.
Age is starting to show
Although it is said that “age is just a number” and “love can move mountains”, Ivona will soon turn 50 and the difference is really starting to show itself visually. She really looks great for her age, but seventeen is seventeen. Harsh comments about the happy family will probably only stem from pure envy, because Chodúr with Ivona and Martínek look like a perfect family, and that is probably not liked by people who don’t want to comment on the lives of others…
