Markus Riva received an invitation to the final of the 67th International Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, but experienced a bad situation with the flight.

“Someone is really envious or simply the road to Eurovision is not as easy as for the viewer… The Lufthansa connecting flight was missed and the next flight to Liverpool is on Sunday morning…” Riva wrote on social networks, the day before the final of the contest on May 13.

Later, the musician revealed that a solution had been found and he flew to Manchester, from where he took a taxi to Liverpool. “It didn’t take more than 12 hours until we arrived in Liverpool at midnight,” Riva remembers the adventurous journey.

Riva did not hide her support for the Swedish representative Lorin, writing: “The energy and atmosphere in the hall is like from another world. It was cool to experience all this and be there when Lorin becomes the first woman to win twice! A well-deserved victory!”

It has already been reported that this year Latvia was represented at the international Eurovision Song Contest by the group “Sudden Lights” with the song “Aijā”. This was the sixth time in a row that Latvia did not qualify for the final. It should be noted that this year Latvia was the first behind the line and only three points separated us from entering the final.
