Surprises were made by non-seeded tennis players Marketa Vondrousova. Vondrousova’s menus Wimbledon 2023 after defeating the sixth seed Our Jabeur.

In the final match that was held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Saturday (15/7/2023) evening WIB, Vondrousova, ranked 42nd from the Czech Republic, won in straight sets 6-4 and 6-4 in 1 hour 20 minutes.

In the first set, Jabeur looked like he would easily dominate the match when he was 2-0 up. Even though Vondrousova leveled the score at 2-2, Jabeur pushed away the lead to 4-2.

However, that advantage could not be maintained when Vondrousova won two games in a row by recording 40-0 twice to make the score even 4-4.

Vondrousova finally took the first set with a 6-4 victory.

Entering the second set, Jabeur was again in control from the start and led 3-1. However, Vondrousova was able to get up to even the score 3-3 and 4-4.

Vondrousova gained momentum to win the last two games and a backhand shot ensured her the 2023 Wimbledon title.

For Vondrousova, this is the first Grand Slam title of her career. She is also the first unseeded and lowest ranked tennis player to win Wimbledon.
