“Mario” directors confirm that “Star-Lord” will not use game accents in the movie – Movie – cnBeta.COM

When Chris Pratt was cast as Mario’s voice actor in the Super Mario movie, fans wondered how he would fit into the role. Video game character Mario is known for his wildly exaggerated Italian accent, the epitome of the iconic “It’s-a-me, Mario!” In fact, when he announced the casting, Pratt posted this on Instagram and said he wouldn’t use the stereotype.

Now, Mario Bros. co-producer Chris Meledandri has confirmed that Pratt will not use the accent, also revealing that the film will reference the familiar “it-to-me” sound.

Meledandri spoke highly of Pratt’s work, saying: “All I can tell you is that the vocal work he has done for us in Mario is fantastic …. I can’t wait for people to hear it. It comes”.

Although Pratt himself is not Italian, the producers claim that Charlie Day, who voiced Luigi, is Italian.

It is reported that the Mario film, which has no official title, is expected to be released on December 21, 2022.
