Maria Höfl-Riesch travels a lot. This time the former German ski racer was caught off guard. She describes her dilemma on social media.

New York – Awards ceremony for a German sports tabloid in Hamburg, Oktoberfest in Munich, fashion week in Milan: After the end of her career, Maria Höfl-Riesch is on the move almost more than with the Alpine ski circuit. However, the latest trip had a nasty surprise in store for the former German ski racer.

Maria Höfl-Riesch has problems entering New York

Her almost 60,000 subscribers on Instagram were there first hand. At John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Höfl-Riesch had enormous problems with “immigration”, i.e. entering the USA. After landing, she captured in a story a seemingly endless line of people who were probably waiting for passport control.

But that wasn’t all. Höfl-Riesch went from one hall to the next – she doesn’t seem to have made any huge progress. “After two hours of waiting, I’ve now landed in this hall,” the 38-year-old from Garmisch-Partenkirchen uploaded another video that showed a mass of people waiting.

The torture didn’t end thereafter either. In another sequence, Höfl-Riesch filmed stationary luggage carousels full of suitcases and backpacks. There are also countless other abandoned luggage items. At least Höfl-Riesch hasn’t lost her sense of humor: “Four hours later… And now: find your suitcase.”

In the meantime, she took a longer break, but then contacted her followers again. “As you can see, I actually made it onto the ship,” says Höfl-Riesch about an upcoming cruise. “I have never experienced immigration like yesterday – four hours. We are now in New York and will stay here until tomorrow, the ship leaves tomorrow evening. That’s why we’re going to do a little tour of the city and settle in a little bit.”

Maria Höfl-Riesch will soon be leaving New York

Arriving is what Maria Höfl-Riesch truly deserves after the exertions at the New York airport. And where it is, it’s apparently quite bearable. The ship is currently still in the middle of Manhattan. On the way to breakfast, Höfl-Riesch gives a little insight into the ship’s interior design with a pool and some lounges. It is not yet clear where they are headed. (aoe)
