Despite the peak of cases in the last hours, Mar del Plata will continue in phase 4 isolation so there will be no backing down with the opening of activities.
The novelty was released by municipal sources after the mayor Guillermo Montenegro I had a talk with the Buenos Aires chief of staff, Carlos Bianco.
The communal chief and the key management officer of Axel Kicillof agreed not to change the phase in which Mar del Plata is located after analyzing the health situation of the last week. One piece of information was the one that had generated concern and speculation of a possible step back to phase 3: yesterday there were 84 cases of coronavirus, a record since the pandemic began.
The arguments presented by the city before the Province for not changing phase were focused on nine points. Another point for which it was agreed to keep the city in phase 4 is that it decreased very strongly the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants: from 42 in the previous week to 28 of this last week.
