The youth fire brigade is the youth department of the volunteer fire brigade. There are many different actions and activities there. For example, a circular tent camp takes place every two years, which the city of Freiburg and the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald organize together. There are also many other events with the district, such as youth groups and fire training with other departments. The youth fire brigade is for children and adolescents aged 10 to 18 years. There are currently around 170 boys and girls in Freiburg and they are trained by over 55 volunteer firefighters. The total of 13 groups are distributed throughout the city.
