Manuela’s brother, Kees Giesen, died ten days after he had to make way for a corona patient. The 55-year-old man had a heart attack and had to stay in hospital even longer.
However, the hospital sent him home early. More than a week later, Kees had another stroke from which he died.

“All beds were advanced for when new corona patients came in,” Manuela tells Heart of the Netherlands. “They had no bed for him. He should just go home and take paracetamol.”
