Manhunt for Fugitive Suspected in Adelaide Murder Case

An important research device was deployed on Sunday around the town of Chailland, in Mayenne. The gendarmes are looking for an inmate from Argentan prison, in Orne, who has been on the run since permission was granted on June 20. According to the public prosecutor of Angers, the fugitive is one of the suspects of the Adelaide feminicide. Aged about forty, this woman was strangled in Angers on June 22. She died. The investigation established that the fugitive was an ex-companion of the victim and that he had seen her again during her leave.

Actively wanted for several days, the man on the run could also have killed a motorist before stealing his vehicle, reports West France. The car was found burned in the town of Chailland, where Adélaïde was from. It was in this village of Mayenne that she was buried. The same day, a young motorist would have been the victim of an attempted strangulation, specifies the daily.

On Sunday, the municipality published a message assuring that “the fugitive is no longer in Chailland”. Before specifying that “the gendarmerie will maintain a presence in the sector to reassure and allow the population to resume a normal life”.
