Mandatory tests will be from Monday and from Latvia and Lithuania, not from Ireland

Until now, these countries have been marked in orange, drawing attention to the medium level of risk, in which only long-term foreign workers have to submit a negative test for covid-19 when traveling to the Czech Republic. Ireland will move from red to this category. The state ministry said on Twitter on Sunday.

Greens are in the traffic lights of countries that test well, with less than 25 new cases of covid-19 per 100,000 population in the last two weeks, and less than four percent of tests positive. Of the European countries, this only applies to the Vatican. Countries have a medium risk of infection, with a positive test rate of over four percent and less than 250 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 population in the last two weeks. When traveling to the Czech Republic from these countries, only long-term foreign workers, but not commuters, must submit a negative test for covid-19. From Monday, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Greece and Ireland will be included in this group.

Countries with a positive test rate of more than four percent and more than 250 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 population in the last two weeks have a high risk of infection. The “red” states are obliged to be tested on the way back to the Czech Republic, foreigners coming to the Czech Republic must also have tests. It is also necessary to fill in the form for the hygiene station. Exceptions are commuters or pupils and students when moving regularly to a certain country.

Without the need for a new coronavirus test, trips abroad are still possible for a maximum of 12 hours, passengers must comply with national anti-coronavirus measures. According to Friday’s statement by Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček (ČSSD), the deadline could be increased to 24 hours for the most necessary trips from Tuesday, but this must be approved by the government.
