Djordjic also gave a clear message in the half-time broadcast:
– Here, during the break, Ten Hag should be the leader he should be. Take him out. If you don’t want to be, if you don’t want to play for the team, don’t do the job, then don’t be at St. James’ Park today. Manchester United need players who glow, who play with passion and who are ready to take on the war when the game doesn’t work, he said – before he rounded off with a final volley of power:

After 60 minutes, Rashford and Martial were replaced, but neither Rasmus Højlund nor Antony were able to make a significant impact on the match.
